Cath is a musician, songwriter and teacher based in Somerset, UK. She offers vocal, piano, flute and guitar lessons online, and from her home studio near Williton.

Cath started teaching 20 years ago whilst living in Brighton, and has taught a whole range of ages, abilities and styles over those years. As an experienced piano teacher, she has a 100% pass rate for the ABRSM exams and always encourages pupils to explore creatively with their playing. She has gained a broad experience over the years, as a Rock School tutor, Piano, Guitar and Vocal teacher, a Workshop Leader in arts/music for children and young people with complex neuro-disabilities, and a Coach for songwriters. Cath has organised and hosted Songwriter Showcase events, featuring several of her students alongside the most up and coming musicians in the area. She was promoter and editor of The Music Diary, a promotional magazine for live music in the South East. She was also a regular performer and events promoter for Brighton Festival Fringe.

Cath has an honours degree in Music with Visual Practice, a diploma in Jazz performance, and a wealth of knowledge from her many years of professional gigging and recording as a musician, singer and songwriter, which saw her playing in many of the key venues and festivals across the UK and on BBC and local radio.

Whatever your level, Cath can help you choose the pieces, songs and styles you want to focus on. She particularly enjoys teaching beginners or adult returners, and is a patient, friendly teacher with a creative approach. Even if you aren’t able to read music yet, Cath can provide guidance at any level to help you unlock your full potential and boost your confidence in singing or playing. Enhance your skills in improvisation, writing and playing by ear.
